One of my biggest parts of my life is baseball. I'd say that there are two types of people that watch baseball. First are the people that love watching it because they understand what is happening and can appreciate the finer things of the sport. This is the group that I'd place myself in because I enjoy the strategy of the game. For instance, when someone hits a pop fly to the outfielder with a base runner on third, I think that it is a great play by the batter because this allows the runner on third to score. I was also a pitcher in high school so i understand what the pitcher is thinking and feel a connection to the game. People that don't like watching baseball only like seeing home runs and my high school coach use to always tell us that home runs were mistakes. The idea of a pitcher's duel, both teams pitchers are shutting down the opponent's batters, is entertaining to me because I see how well both pitchers are doing and get witness something that is rare. The biggest reason why people don't watch baseball is because they say it's too boring. They like to see action like football's big tackles. So the twenty seconds between pitches isn't quick enough to hold their attention and switch the channel. I've had friends tell me that they'd would rather just watch the highlights the next day. The only game that seems to be worthy to watch is the world series and usually not all of the games. The true fans of a team are the ones that watch the games and not the one's that just buy the hats.
