This is a forum designed for people interested in Mustangs, it covers all models and deals with modification and tech. Many people on this forum spend countless hours and thousands of dollars working on their cars to make them the way they like or perform how they want. Also, most of these people are not professional mechanics so they are doing this on their own time due to their intense passion for Mustangs.
This is a Burger King ad for a new sandwich, the as states "It'll blow you away" with a picture of the sandwich next to a females open mouth. This shows that even fast food resturaunts are using sex to try and sell their product
I looked at he forum, it looks like a great sorce to use. It seems like your be able to get everything you need for the project from here. Just from the number of posts, i can get a sense that these people love those cars. The link, doesn't seem to be working, but from what you've said about it, i got the basic idea of the ad. I feel like fast food resturants are using sex appeal more and more because their target audience is younger people and that's what gets their attention.
ReplyDeleteI really like the idea of the Burger King commercial. In some ways i find it funny but also awkward and weird in another. Since when do we associate sex with food or food with sex? I don't really see a sandwich or burger as something that would be sexy. That's just another example where we can take the sex appeal and turn something not sexy to being very appealing.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I kind of have to agree with Jen. I think this ad is just kind of awkward because of the sex reference. However, I can see why they would try and pair love and sex with their food. By pairing love and sex with the food, you also pair the good feelings that come with thinking of sex with the sandwich and therefore it becomes paired with their food. I find it pretty interesting. It's really a good move on their part I think.
ReplyDeleteThe mustang website seems like a really good source. I feel like there would be a lot of information from actual people to write about. I'm not sure what cars have to do with love but hey if people love mustangs that much who am I to judge? The burger king ad is a really good example of sex in advertising. It may be a slightly inappropriate ad but it would definitely get people's attention which is the whole point of advertising.
ReplyDeleteI feel that the first source could might end up being too broad of a topic, and more of just an example. As for the second source, it provides a definite topic, but it wouldn't have too much depth, contrary to the first source.
