This article discusses the class-action lawsuit attempt against Walmart in the Supreme Court. The main argument this article brings up is that traditional gender stereotypes still played a role in the hiring, pay and promotion of female employees.

In this article, the inherent message is that violence against woman carried out by the Libyan government is not new and something needs to be done about it quickly to prevent any sort of event like this from ever happening again.

  1. In response to Wal-Mart article..

I think the problem of female discrimination in the workplace is diminishing. The best managers (the ones who get and keep their jobs) hire people based on whoever is best suited for the job, not on gender. However, that doesn't mean sexism is non-existent. I'd also suspect this issue of discrimination is more prevalent in certain areas of the country than others.

  2. Sexual discrimination is still a problem at present, even though women have already gained a lot of equal rights. I think this kind of stereotype will last for a long time in working place, because women are not as physical strong as men and usually they cannot qualify the job required putting into a lot of time and energy. Overall, I agree with the division of labor. If a woman want to gain the same achievement as the man, she should make more efforts.
